Loading... A Christian View of Spirituality (The Complete Works of Francis A. Schaeffer, Vol. 3, 1991) (edition 1991)by Francis A. SchaefferI am just finishing True Spirituality. Schaeffer has articulated what Christian spirituality truely is and in the context of 20th century philosophies he explains what spirituality is not. It is also refreshing to read about Spirituality from an intellectual, modern reformer. In the end, true spirituality is all about God the Creator and his grace in the lives of redeemed creatures. These books emphasize living for Christ on a day-to-day basis. Acting on our beliefs and showing our faith by our actions. He firmly asserts that we must have sound doctrine, but we must add nothing to this. No cultural restrictions. If we do, we undermine the Word of God. Our doctrines must be reflected in our "whole man", our daily lives, or we will be ineffective as witnesses. |
