This is the first collection which has ever been made of DUBLIN GREEK and LATIN VERSES. In 1867 some translations by myself and two friends were published under the title Hesperidum Susurri; and in 1869 I set on foot a terminal College magazine, called Kottabos, in which translations into Greek and Latin appeared, together with original English, Greek, and Latin verses, translations from ancient and modern languages, and a few light essays in prose. Most of the translations now brought together have already appeared in Hesperidum Susurri and Kottabos. They are all by Dublin men.
