Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Delaware in General Assembly met: Vol. 25 Section 1. Approved March 19, A. D. 1913. OF ROADS AND BRIDGES. Rate of speed for automobiles over draw bridges in Sussex county Penalty for violating Sec. 1. CHAPTER 172. OF ROADS AND BRIDGES. AN ACT for the Protection of Draw Bridges in Sussex County. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Delaware in General Assembly met: Section 1. That from and after the approval of this Act by the Governor, it shall be unlawful for any person to drive an automobile upon or over any draw bridge in the County of Sussex at a rate of speed exceeding six miles per hour. Section 2. Any person offending against the provisions of this Act, shall, upon conviction thereof before any Justice of the Peace in Sussex County, be fined not more than fifty dollars; and upon the failure or refusal to pay such fine, such person, so convicted, may be imprisoned for a term not exceeding thirty days; provided, Levy Court to that the Levy Court of Sussex County shall have preat approaches vious to the date of the alleged offense being committed, post notices of bridge Right of appeal from sentence placed at each approach to the bridge on which the alleged offense has been committed, a conspicuous sign showing that it is a prison offense to drive at a rate of speed exceeding six miles per hour upon or over said bridge. That the said Levy Court of Sussex County may require any person, firm or corporation, either private or municipal, who shall agree to assume or to pay wages of a man to attend the draw at said bridge or to construct the road down to said bridge or any other work which any individuals may agree to do or perform, to enter into a Bond to the State of Delaware in a penal sum not exceeding Twenty-five Hundred Dollars, with at least two sureties, to be approved by the said Levy Court, with warrant of attorney thereto for the confession of judgment for securing the payment of any amount which may be due for wages of said bridge tender, or the cost of the construction of the road leading to said bridge or any other work which may be assumed by any individual, firm or corporation before the Levy Court of Sussex County shall be required to begin or undertake the construction and erection of said bridge. AN ACT Providing for the Improvement and Maintainance of Public Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Delaware, in General Assembly met: County Road appointed by Engineer to be Levy Court of Section 1. That within thirty days after the approval of this Act and annually thereafter the Levy Court of Kent County shall meet at Dover and shall, by a majority vote, appoint some competent Engineer to be County Road Engineer. Such County Road Engineer shall before entering upon the duties of his office, make oath before a person, qualified to administer oaths, that he will well and faithfully perform the duties of his office. Said Engineer may also, if the said Levy Court shall deem it necessary, give bond with surety or sureties to be approved by said Levy Court in a sum to be fixed by said Levy Court to secure the faithful performance of his duties and the safe keeping of all papers and records of his office and the turning over of the same to his successor. He shall hold office during the pleasure of the Levy Court but shall not be removed without good cause. Vacancies in such office shall be filled by said Levy Court Levy Court for the unexpired term. The said County Road Engineer shall receive a salary of fifteen hundred dollars per annum and while in said office shall not be engaged in any Salary other business.
