IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DIRECTION OF THE PRESIDENT, A LETTER FROM THE FORESTER OF THAT DEPARTMENT, GIVING IN DETAIL THE INFORMATION REGARDING THE RECEIPTS OF THE FOREST SERVICE CALLED FOR BY A SENATE RESOLUTION OF APRIL 7, 1908.

In accordance with the direction of the President, I transmit herewith a letter from the Forester of this Department covering three statements (numbered Exhibits 1, 2 and 3, respectively), giving in detail the information regarding the receipts of the Forest Service called for in Senate resolution dated April 7, 1908.

SIR: In compliance with Senate resolution of April 7, I inclose herewith for transmittal the following statements:

(1) Detailed and classified statements of all receipts from national forests for the fiscal year July 1, 1906, to June 30, 1907. (Exhibit No. 1.)

(2) Statement of amounts on hand and in the Treasury to the credit of the Forest Service on July 1, 1907, other than the regular

appropriations for the fiscal year 1908. (Exhibit No. 2.)

(3) Classified statement of all amounts received by the Forest Service from all sources from July 1, 1907, to April 7, 1908. (Exhibit No. 3.)

The detailed and classified statement of receipts for 1907 is a copy of the statement previously furnished in accordance with the act of Congress approved March 4, 1907.

All receipts to date have been deposited in the United States Treasury.
