tions: ye (hall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.

15 Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the fast day ye lhall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that lbul shall be cut off from Israel.

16 And in the first day there Jhall be an holy convocation, and in the seventh day there mall be an holy convocation to you; no manner of work mall be done in them, save that which every m-«-. must eat, that only may be done of you.

17 And ye shrill observe the feast of unleavened bread; for in this selfsame day have I brought your armies out of the land of Egypt: therefore shall ye observe this day in your generations by an ordinance for ever.

18 In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even.

19 Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses: for whosoever eateth that which is leavened, even that foul shall be cut off' from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a stranger, or born in the land.

10 Ye {hall eat nothing leavened: in all your habitations shall ye cat unleavened bread.

si Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out, and take you a Iamb according to your families, and kill the passover.

22 And yc shall take a bunch of hystbp, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side .posts with the blood that is in the bafon: and none of you (hall go out at the door of his house until the morning.

23 For the Lo R D will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the twosideposts,theLoR D willpascovcrthe door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smits^-eu.

24 And ye (hall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee, and to thy sons for ever.

25 And it (hall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which the Lord will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye (hall keep this service.

26 And it shall come to pass, when your children stiall lay unto you, What mean ye by this service?

27 That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice -of tilt- Lord's pastover, who passed

44 Bet every man's servant that is bo^ht for money, when thou hast circuaiciled him, then shall he eat thereof.

4j A foreigner and an hired servant kill not eat thereof.

+6 In one house shall it be eaten; thou Salt not carry forth ought of the flesh abroad out of the house j neither shall je break a bone thereof.

+7 All the congregation os Israel shall keep it.

45 And when a stranger shall soiourn with thee, and will keep the paisover to the Lo* D, l«t all his males be cirenacifed, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is bora in the land: for no uncircumcifcd person shall eat thereof.

6 Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, and in the seventh day jr.all be a feast to the Lord.

7 Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days: and there shall no leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen with thee in all thy quarters.

8 And thou (halt (hew thy son in that day, saying, This is done because of that •which the Lord did unto me, when I came forth out of Egypt.

9 And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes; that the Lord's law may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath the Lord brought thee out of Egypt.

10 Thou (halt therefore keep this ordinance in his season from year to year.

11 And it ihall be, when the Lord shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, as he (ware unto thee, and to thy fathers, and (hall give it thee,

12 That thou (halt set apart unto the Lor D all that openeth the matrix: and every firstling that cometh ot" a beast which thou hast, the males Jhall be the Lor D's.

13 And every firstling of an ass thou (halt redeem with a lamb; ami if thou wilt not redeem it, then thou (halt break his neck: and all the firstborn of man among thy children (halt thou redeem.

through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea. And the children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt.

19 And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly sworn the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit youj and ye lhall carry up my bones away hence with you.

20 And they took their journey from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, in the edge of the wilderness.

21 qy And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:

22 He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.

CHAP. XIV. 5 Pharaoh pursueth. 10 The Israelites murmur. 21 They pass through the Red sea. 23 The Egyptians drowned.

AND the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

2 Speak" unto the children of Israel, that they turn and encamp before Pibahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, over against Baal-zephon: before it Ilia.ll ye encamp by the sea.

3 For Pharaoh will say of the children wf Israel, They are entangled in the land,, the wilderness hath (hut them in.

4. And I will harden Pharaohs heart, that he lhall followafterthem: and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the Lord. And they did so.

5 f And it was told the king of Egypt that the people fled: and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned againit the people, and they said, Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?

6 And he made ready his chariot, and took his people with him:

And he took six hundred chosen

chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over every one of them.

8 And the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued aster the children of Israel: and the children of Israel went out with an hi^h hand.

12 Is not this the word that we dii tell thee in Egypt, faying, Let us alone that we may serve the Egyptians? so it had been better for us to serve th Egyptians, than that we should die i 1 the wilderness.

13 And Moses said unto the people Fear ye not, stand still, and see the sal vation of the Lor D, which he will sliev to you to day: for the Egyptians whon ye have seen to day, ye mall see then again no more for ever.

14 The Lo R D shall fight for you, am yc lhall hold your peace.

15 And the Lord said unto Mosea Wherefore crieft thou unto me? spea] unto the children of Isratl, that the go forward:

19 And the angel of God, which wen before the camp of Israel, removed an went behind them: and the pillar c the cloud went from before their face and stood behind them:

20 And it came between the camp 0 the Egyptians, and the camp of Israel and it was a cloud and darkness to then but it gave light by night to these: 1 that the one came not near the other a! the night.

25 ^ And he cried unto the Lord: and the Lor n mewed him a tree, 'which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were m;ide sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them,

26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in nis sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes; I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.

27 fl And they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.

CHAP. XVI.

a The Israelites murmur for 'want osbread.

11 Quails are sent, z±and manna.

AND they took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which //between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day »f the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt.

2 fl And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moles and Aaron in the wilderness:

3 And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by die hand of the Lord in the land ot Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full: tor ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole alfembly with hunger.

4 Then said the I.onD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven far you; and the people fiall go out, and gather a certain rate every day, that I may pp->ve them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.

5 And it (hall come to pass, that on the sixth day they thall prepare that which they bring in; and it mail be twice as much, as they gather-daily.

6 And Moses and Aaron said unto al the children of Israel, At even, then y (hall know that the Lord hath brough you out from the land of Egypt:

7 And in the morning, then ye (hal see the glory of the Lord; for that h heareth your murmurings against th Lord: and what are we, that ye mur mur against us?

8 And Moses said, This shall be, whei the Lord shall give you in the evenin flesh to eat, and in the morning brea' to the full: for that the Lord nearet your murmurings which ye murmu against him: and what are we? you murmurings art not against us, bu against the Lord;

9 And Moses spake unto Aaron, Sa; unto all the congregation of the child re: of Israel, Come near before the Lor o for he hath heard your murmurings.

10 And it came to pass as Aaro snake unto the whole congregation c the children of Israel, that they lookei toward the wilderness, and, behold, th glory of the Lo R D appeared in the cloud

11 q And the Lord spake untoMoses saying,

/ 11 I have heard the murmurings c the children of Israel; speak unto then; saying, At even ye (hall eat flelh, an in the morning ye (hall be filled wit bread; and ye (hall know that I am th Lord your God.

1 j And it came to pass, that at evei the quails came up, and covered th camp: and in the morning the dew la; round about the host.

14 ^J And when the dew that lay wa gone up, behold, upon the face of th wilderness the re lay a small round thing as small as the hoar frost on the ground

15 And when the children of Israel sa' it, they said one to another, It is manna for they wist not what it -was. Ani Mo ses (aid unto them, This is the brea which the Lord hath given you to eat

16 This is the thing which the Lor 1 hath commanded, Gather of it ever man according to his eating: an ome for every man, according to the numbe of your persons; take ye every man so them which are in his tents.

17 And the children of Israel did sc and gathered some more, some less.
