Prayer for Ministers. 2 The Saviour, when to heaven he rose, ATHER of mercies! bow thine car, In splendid triumph o'er his foes, Scatter'd bis gifts on men below,

We plead for those who plead for thee, And wide his royal bounties flow.

Successful pleaders may they be! 3 Hence sprang th' Apostle's honour'd name, 2 How great their work, how vast their charge! Sacred beyond heroic fame;

Do thou their anxious souls enlarge ; Hence dictates the prophetic sage,

Their best acquirements are our gain, And hence the evangelic page.

We share the blessings they obtain. 4 In lower forms to bless our eyes,
