8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.
9 And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue :
10 7 And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, * Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days ? that they might accuse him.
11 And he said unto them, 'What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and "if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out? 12 How much then is a man better than a
Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
i MARK, iii. 1, &c: And he entered again into the synagogue, and there was a man there which had a withered hand, &c. LUKE, vi. 6, &c: He entered into the synagogue and taught; and there was a man whose right hand was withered, &c.

LUKE, vi. 7: The Scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day : that they might find an accusation against him. do. xiii. 14: The ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work : in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day. do. xiv. 3 : Jesus answering, spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day ? John, ix. 16: Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man which is a sinner do such miracles? and there was a division among them.

14 Then the Pharisees went out, "and held a council? against him, how they might destroy him.
15 But when Jesus knew it, he 'withdrew himself from thence : and great ' multitudes followed him, and he healed them all ;
16 And charged them that they should not make him known :
17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
18 'Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased : I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall show judgment to the Gentiles.
19 He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.
20 "A bruised reed shall he not break, and

21 And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.
22 | Then was brought unto him one 'possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb : and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.
23 And all the people were "amazed, and said, Is not this the Son of David ?
24 But when the 'Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub4 the prince of the devils.
25 And Jesus "knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom * divided against itself is brought to desolation ; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand :
26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?
27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do ' your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.

28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then ' the kingdom of God is come unto you.

31 | Wherefore I say unto you, "All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. 32 And whosoever speaketh a word against

LUKE, xü. 10: Whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him : but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven. HEB. vi. 4, &c: It is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,-if they shall fall away to renew them again unto repentance, &c. do. X. 26, 29: If we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins.
of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite
unto the Spirit of grace. 1 John, v. 16 : There is a sin unto death : I do not say that he shall pray for it.
