Being the TWELVE STATES that have respectively ratified the Conftitution of Government for the UNITED STATES, propofed by the CONVENTION, held at Philadelphia, on the 17th of September, 1787.

MONDAY, January 4, 1790.

THE following members of Senate affembled:

The number not being fufficient to conftitute a quorum, they adjourned until to-morrow at 11 o'clock.

TUESDAY, January 5, 1790.

The members of Senate prefent, as yesterday, and the Honorable John Henry, from the State of Maryland, attended.

The number not being fufficient to conftitute a quorum, they adjourned until to-morrow at 11 o'clock.

WEDNESDAY, January 6, 1790.

The SENATE affembled,

Present as yesterday,

And the Honorable William Maclay, from the State of Pennsylvania, attended.

ORDERED, That the Secretary inform the House of Representatives, that a quorum of the Senate have affembled, and are ready to proceed

to business.

ORDERED, That

Mr. Strong and

Mr. Izard, be a Committee on the part of the Senate, with fuch Committee as the House of Reprefentatives may appoint on their part, to inform the Prefident of the United States, that a quorum of the two Houfes is affembled, and will be ready in the Senate-Chamber, at fuch time as the Prefident may appoint, to receive any communications he may be pleased to make.

The Senate adjourned to 11 o'clock to-morrow.

THURSDAY, January 7, 1790.

The SENATE affembled,

Prefent as yesterday,

And the Honorable Oliver Ellsworth, from the State of Connecticut, And the Honorable William Paterfon, from the State of New-Jersey, attended.

A meffage from the House of Representatives:

"Mr. PRESIDENT,

"A quorum of the House of Representatives have assembled, and are ready to proceed to bufinefs."

ORDERED, That the Secretary acquaint the House of Reprefentatives, of the appointment of a Committee on the 6th January, to wait on the Prefident of the United States, and inform him, that a quorum of both Houfes of Congrefs had affembled, and are ready to receive any communications that he may be pleased to make; and that he request the concurrence of the House of Reprefentatives, in the appointment of a Committee on their part.
