For Dennis Michaels, a Vietnam combat veteran waging an invisible forty-year battle with survivor's guilt and PTSD, life changes when he mentors Andy Taylor, an Iraq War veteran undergoing rehabilitation at Walter Reed Medical Center. Transforming pain into healing, this warrior of old and warrior of today share glimpses into a world seldom discussed as they navigate their journey home and honor their Marine code of conduct: Never leave anyone behind. Released as the 2nd edition of the acclaimed Still the Monkey, What Happens to Warriors after War (March, 2007), Beyond the Wall: The Journey Home continues to captivate readers with its authentic and unbiased portrayal of life after combat and PTSD and features a foreword by Jerry Beightol (Vietnam veteran and retired LCSW) and the poem Home by Michelle McCloskey-Alicea.
