begins in the year of the world 3228; 776 years before the birth of Chrift; and each olympiad contains four years. This mode of computation is ufed in the Grecian history.

A. U. C. Anno urbis conditæ, in the year

after the building of Rome. This epocha commences 753 years before the birth of Chrift; and is generally used in the Roman hiftory. VARRO.
