WITH

A PORTRAIT OF THE DISTINGUISHED AUTHOR,

THE PUBLISHER OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL UNION has issued this great and intensely interesting public document, carefully corrected and revised, at a very low price for single copies, and at a much lower rate when furnished in considerable numbers. The Report is printed upon fine paper, with clear new type, under a good cover, at the following cheap scale of prices :

The immense pressing and continued demand for copies of the Report of Major General George B. McClellan, on the organization of the Army of the Potomac. and its campaign in Virginia and Maryland, while under his command, is so great, and the number printed by order of Congress is so small, that it is utterly out of the power of any Member of Congress to gratify to any considerable extent his friends or constituents who may apply for them. This fact has induced us to make arrangements to publish a large edition, which is now ready for distribution. We are prepared to supply any demand for copies, however great, and will furnish all who may desire it, at a low price enough to place this great and important public document in the hands and possession of the poorest or most humble citizen of the Republic, and thereby enable all who desire to peruse it, to obtain it at very small

cost.

Clubs, Associations, Agents, Canvassers, Sutlers, Newsmen, Book Dealers,
Pedlars, or individuals desiring copies of the Report, will please forward their
orders at the earliest possible moment, that they may be promptly supplied.
The Trade and Booksellers generally supplied on very liberal terms for CASH.

THE CONSTITUTIONAL UNION,

A Daily and Weekly Democratic Conservative Union Newspaper.

The Bold and Fearless Defender of Constitutional Liberty!

Devoted earnestly to the Maintenance of the "Constitution as it is," and the Restoration
of the Union as it Was."

[ocr errors]

THE CONSTITUTIONAL UNION" has won, since its establishment, the beartiest approval
of all national and conservative men, for its able and fearless advocacy of Constitutional
Liberty, Constitutional Rights, and Constitutional Principles. As the Publisher desires
to enlarge the field of its operations by an increase in its subscription list, and a more
extended circulation, he is encouraged in the belief that it may be made a means of Vast
and greater usefulness in the important work of the Preservation of the Union, which,
in His inscrutable wisdom, Providence has committed to the National Conservative De-
mocracy; and in which, if our free form of Constitutional Government is to be preserved.
there must be neither hesitation, timidity, or delay. The "CONSTITUTIONAL UNION" will
continue to exercise, fearlessly, its Constitutional right of the Freedom of the Press, while
it will earnestly contend for the entire Freedom of Speech, and a free and untrammeled
ballot for the people, unawed and undismayed by the intervention of bands of armed men
at the polls, to secure a constitutional victory through the ballot-box, a restoration of law
and order in the administration of the Government, and the election in the autumn of
1864, of a President of the United States who will faithfully and constitutionally administer
the duties of his great office,

THE CONSTITUTIONAL UNION being the only DEMOCRATIC NEWSPAter published
in the CITY OF WASHINGTON, May be depended upon for reliable and fresh news from the
Capitol, while its pages are more interesting, from the fact that ALL THE ORTHODOX
SPEECHES made in the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States, enrich
its well filled columns.
THE DAILY CONSTITUTIONAL UNION is sent to subscribers by mail, at $$ a year.
Clubs, for the daily, of twenty-five persons, mailed to one address, 8150 per year.

The Weekly Constitutional Union.

Especial attention is solicited to our weekly paper, which is a mammoth sheet. filled with choice matter, and exceedingly desirable in our judgment, as a periodical visitor at the hearthstone, and in the family of every conservative man in the Union. It may be had, considering the enormous price of paper, and increased cost of labor and materials, at 4 very cheap rate, as the scale of prices will show. We suggest the union of effort among friends to form Clubs, by which a large rednetion in the price of the paper is attained. OUR TERMS FOR CLUBS:
