Upon the question, "Shall this Senate bill pass?" it was decided as follows:

In the affirmative were

Messrs. Ackerson, Barber, Case, Conrad, Haines, Hammond, Mackay, Martens, McCran (President), McGlennon, Mutchler, Pilgrim, Richards, Runyon, Stevens, Sturgess-16.

In the negative-None.

The Secretary was directed by the President to carry said bill to the House of Assembly and inform that body that the Senate has passed the same, and requests its concurrence therein.

Senate Bill No. 42, entitled "An act providing for compensation and reimbursement of persons appointed as court officers by the sheriff of any county in this State, the title to whose office or position has been adjudged against such persons or hereafter may be adjudged against such persons, in appropriate legal proceedings, or where such offices or positions have been or may hereafter be adversely affected by judicial decision by a court of competent jurisdiction within twelve months last past, and providing for the payment of the expenses incurred by any such persons in litigation in which their right or title to such position or employment aforesaid was involved, in those cases where legal proceedings concerning such position or employment were actually conducted and who have actually performed services for any county in the State as court officers,"

Was taken up on third reading.

Mr. Mackay asked unanimous consent to amend said bill on third reading.

Which was agreed to.

Mr. Mackay offered the following amendment, which was read and adopted:

Amend the title of the act by omitting the words "and providing for the payment of the expenses incurred," after the words "twelve months last past.

Amend section 1, page 2, line 9, after the words "court officers was or may be" insert the word "finally."

On motion of Mr. Mackay, said bill was laid over.

Senate Bill No. 52, entitled "An act to amend an act entitled 'An act to regulate the practice of pharmacy in this State,' approved March nineteenth, one thousand nine hundred and one,"

Was taken up and read a third time.

Upon the question, "Shall this Senate Bill pass?" it was decided as follows:

Senate Bill No. 55, entitled "An act to amend an act entitled 'An act for the incorporation of cities and providing for their officers, government and powers,' approved March twenty-fourth, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine,'

Senate Bill No. 79, entitled "An act to amend an act entitled 'An act prohibiting the discharge of sewage, excremental matter, domestic refuse and other polluting matter into fresh water,' approved April ninth, one thousand nine hundred and ten,"

Was taken up and read a third time.

Upon the question, "Shall this Senate bill pass?" it was decided as follows:

In the affirmative were—

The following message was received from the House of Assembly by the hands of its Clerk:

I am directed by the House of Assembly to inform the Senate that the House of Assembly has passed the following bills:

Senate Bill No. 1, entitled "An act to prohibit the sale, or offer, or exposure for sale, or furnishing or otherwise dealing in intoxicating liquor as a beverage and the granting of licenses there for in any town, township, village, borough, city or other municipality (not a county) in this State where the legal voters thereof shall decide by a majority vote in favor of such prohibition or the continuance thereof,"

And

Senate Bill No. 2, entitled "An act to regulate the sale, or offer, or exposure for sale, or furnishing or otherwise dealing in intoxicating liquor as a beverage and the granting of licenses therefor in any town, township, village, borough, city or other municipality (not a county) in this State, by ordinance, where the legal voters of such municipality shall initiate and vote in favor of such ordinance,"

On motion of Mr. Richards, the Senate proceeded to the consideration of Executive business, on the conclusion of which, and, Under the direction of the President, the Secretary called the Senate, when the following Senators appeared and answered the call: Messrs.
