Mr. Mackay, on leave, introduced

Senate Bill No. 42, entitled "An act providing for compensation and reimbursement of persons appointed as court officers by the sheriff of any county in this State the title of whose office or position has been adjudged against such persons or hereafter may be adjudged against such persons, in appropriate legal proceedings, or where such offices or positions have been or may hereafter be adversely affected by judicial decision by a court of competent jurisdiction within twelve months last past, and providing for the payment of the expenses incurred by any such persons in litigation in which their right or title to such position or employment aforesaid was involved in those cases where legal proceedings concerning such position or employment were actually conducted and who have actually performed services for any county in the State as court officers,"

Mr. Richards announced the Judiciary Committee would have a hearing at 2 P. M., Monday, January 14th, 1918, on bills before that committee.

Mr. Richards offered the following resolution, which was read and adopted:

Resolved, That when the Senate adjourn, it be to meet on Friday morning at 11 o'clock, and that when it then adjourn, it be to meet on Monday evening at 8 o'clock.

On motion of Mr. Richards, the Senate then adjourned.
