HE following treatife goes all on this fuppofition, That the fcriptures of the Old Teftament, as Chrift and his apoftles received them from the Jews and gave them to Chriftians, with the feriptures of the New Teftament, as we have them handed down to us, contain the complete revelation of the whole counfel of God, and are the perfect rule of the Chriftian religion; which is ftill to be found pure and entire in them; fo that every falfe glofs can be refuted by thefe fame feriptures, in like manner as Jefus Chrift answered the devil,. It is written again.

And there is nothing neceffary for the continuance of the Chriftian religion in the world, till Chrift return
