PREFACE.

v. 39.)

EARCH THE SCRIPTURES, for in them ye think ye have eternal life; and they are they which testify of Me. (JOHN

Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart, and ye shall find rest unto your souls! For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light. (MATT. xi. 28-30.)

Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another, and the Lord hearkened and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him, for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon His name. And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of Hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. (MAL. iii. 16, 17.)

His delight is in the law of the Lord, and in his law doth he meditate day and night: and he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither, and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. (PSALM i. 2, 3)

Hearken diligently unto Me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. Incline your ear, and come unto Me; hear, and your soul shall live: And I will make an ever

lasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David. (ISA. lv. 2, 3.) For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater; So shall My word be, that goeth forth out of My mouth; it shall not return unto Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it: for ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace. (verses 10-12.)

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein; for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. (Joshua i. 8.)

Ye shall lay up these my words in your heart, and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. (DEUT. xi. 18). That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the Lord sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth. (verse 21.)

The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide. (PSALM XXXVII. 31.)

My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips: When I remember Thee

upon my bed, and meditate on Thee in the night watches. (PSALM lxiii. 5, 6.)

Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto, according to Thy word. (PSALM CXix. 9.)

Hallow my Sabbaths, and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the Lord your God. (EZEK. xx. 20.)

If thou turn away thy foot from the Sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the Sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and shalt honour Him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it. (ISA. lviii. 13, 14.)

And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way; when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates, that your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the Lord sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth. (DEUT. xi. 19-21.)

I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water. (Isa. xli. 18.)

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters. (PSALM Xxiii. 2.)

If any man will do His will, he shall know of the doctrine whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. (JOHN vii. 17.)
