[178] In order that this subject may be brought before the Corporation in a form to be acted upon the Committee beg leave to submit as expressive of their opinion the following resolutions

Resolved that this Board do approve of the foregoing Report

Resolved that application be made to the Supreme Court of this State for the appointment of Commissioners for the purpose of taking the grounds included in the aforesaid square and not owned by this Board, and that the Counsel take the necessary measures to effect this object at the earliest period

Resolved that the Committee on Lands and places be charged with regulating the said square provided the expence shall not exceed Two thousand Dollars.

Which was approved and the Resolutions adopted

The Counsel submitted to the Board a Deed of Cession of 121st Street from the 3d Avenue to the Harlaem River executed by William Wood & others which was accepted and the Comptroller directed to cause the same to be Recorded in the Registers Office

[179] The Counsel presented for execution Leases of Lands sold for non payment of Taxes

The Counsel of the Board respectfully presents for execution the following Leases of Lands sold for Taxes on the 10 NovemTM 1824

1. A Lease to Charles Oakley of nine lots in the ninth ward on Amos street assessed as belonging to A Hammond Sold for 5 years for $22 10/100

2. A Lease to the same of 5 Lots in the Ninth Ward on the Fitzroy Road assessed as belonging to Thomas Ash sold for 17 years for $14 50/100

3. A Lease to the same of an acre of Land in the Ninth Ward on Greenwich Lane assessed as belonging to A Hammond Sold for 8 years for $17.

These Leases are made out pursuant to the directions of the Street Commissioner, Two years having expired since the day of Sale

The Counsel also presented for execution Certificates of Sales of Lots for Non payment of Assessts which sale was made on the 22d Nov last

The Counsel respectfully presents for execution the following Certificates of the Sales of Lots for Assessments at the sale which took place [180] on the 224 November last vizt

1. A Certificate of the Sale for 44 years from the 22d Nov. 1828 of a Lot in the 4th Ward on the South side of Banker Street between Oliver & Catha [r]ine Sts 99 feet & 4 Inches in front on Bancker street assessed as belonging to the Estate of Franklin-sold to Isaac Ammerman for $80 29/100

2. A like Certificate for one year from same time of a Lot in the 7th Ward on the North side of Water street between Catherine & Market streets 25 feet in front on Water street assessed as belonging to Robert Macomb sold to Charles Mowatt for $58 52100

3. A like Certificate for 19 years from same time of a Lot of land in the 9th Ward, on the West side of Thompson street between Bleecker and Amity streets and being known as the Southerly half part of what is called Amity Lane. Sold to Isaac Ammerman for $40.64/100

4 A like Certificate for one year from same time of a Lot of land in the 9th Ward on the East side of the 6th Avenue between Amity and Fourth streets being 25 feet front on said Avenue assessed as the property of Thomas Wilson sold to William M Chardavoyne for $60,49/100

5. A like Certificate for four years from same time of a Lot of Land in the said 9th Ward on the East side of the 6th Avenue between Amity & Fourth streets 25 feet in front assessed as belonging to [181] Thomas Wilson sold to William A Chardavoyne for $59.75/100

6. A like Certificate for four years from same time of a Lot of land in the 8th Ward on the West side of Mulberry Street between Houston & Columbia streets 21 feet 6 Inches front assessed as belonging to Asa Holden Sold to Asa Holden for $70 100

7. A like Certificate for ten years from same time of a Lot of Land in the 10th Ward on the East side of Pitt street between Grand & Broome streets assessed as belonging to James Hammill 25 feet in front Sold to George Armstrong for $28 93100

Whereupon the same were directed to be executed

A Communication was received from the Street Commissioner respecting the regulation of Factory street which was read and referred to the Street Committee

The Street Commissioner presented the following Ordinances which were passed and Assessors appointed thereto Vizt

For a Well and Pump in Reed street and John Slidell Abraham Le Foy & Henry Mead were appointed Assessors

[182] Also for a Well & Pump in Water street near Montgomery Street and John Targee Abraham Baudoine and Shivers Parker were appointed Assessors

Also for a Well & Pump in Jay street between Staple & Greenwich streets and Isaac Kip Samuel Purdy & Peter L Webb were appointed Assessors

Also for a Well & Pump in 13th Street near Greenwich Lane and Abraham Dally William AlBurtis & Thomas Herring were appointed Assessors

Also for laying Cross walks in the Sixth ward and John Towt David Lyon & James Bleecker were appointed Assessors

The Street Commissioners presented the following Assessments which were confirmed and Collectors appointed thereto Vizt

For paving Montgomery street from Division to Front street and Morris D Camp appointed Collector

Also for regulating & paving Laurens [183] street from Prince to Bleecker street and Noah Jarvis appointed Collector

Also for pitching and paving Clarkson street from Hudson to Greenwich street and Noah Jarvis appointed Collector

Also for a Well and Pump in King street near McDougal street a[nd] Noah Jarvis appointed Collector

Also for a Well and Pump in Chrystie street near Broome street and Morris D Camp appointed Collector

Also for repaving Theatre Alley and Noah Jarvis appointed Collector

The City Inspector presented the following Report of Ordinances 72 in Number which were passed
