The design of this little work is to preserve in a convenient form, some of the choicest gems from American and English authors. The original remarks, under the similitude of a dream, are interwoven with the selected articles, so as to give the appear ance of a narrative; as that form of writing will keep up the attention of the reader, better than isolated extracts. As a cluster of diamonds in an inferior setting, so are the selections to the original.
