For the record, list all braille titles produced in fiscal years 1986 and 1987. Response. There are approximately 6,200 press braille titles in the NLS collection. Each year, dependent upon available funds, between 350 and 400 press braille titles are added to the program. The selections are roughly divided on a 55-45 ratio between titles published in the current and preceding year, and retrospective titles which are time-tested, standard works. During the past 15 years, only 25 brailled titles have required repressing to replace damaged copies to meet reader demand. Braille books have been in production for as long as the program has been in existence. The collection has a wide variety of older titles which have been amassed over a very long period of time without significant deterioration, many of which are now out of print. Following are lists of titles produced during FY 1986, titles produced to date in FY 1987, and titles in the production process for FY 1987.
