THE FOURTH 'STANDARD' READING AND HOME LESSON BOOK, CONTAINING Lessons in Reading, Spelling, Dictation, Geo- Adapted to meet the requirements of the Revised Code for The principles upon which the Fourth 'Standard' Book has been compiled, are pretty much the same as in the former books of this series. The prose lessons embrace a variety of subjects such as Common Things, Geography, &c., as well as amusing and instructive stories. The poetry has been so selected that it may form a good introduction to the class of poetry to be found in the Fifth Book. The words and meanings at the beginning of the lesson are intended to be learnt before the lesson is read. The meanings are explain. ed in the sense in which they are used in the lesson. The grammar lessons will, of course, be explained by the teacher; the definitions have been given in a suitable form for the children to commit them to memory.
