My flesh shall slumber in the ground

Till the last trumpet's joyful sound;
Then burst the chains with sweet surprise,
And in my Saviour's image rise.

1. How unwise, then, to be concerned about mere worldly good, that is mutable, illusory, and temporary.-2. How important that we should secure an interest where every thing is stable, real, and enduring.

How vain is all beneath the skies!
How transient every earthly bliss!
How slender all the fondest ties

That bind us to a world like this.

22. What must I do to be saved?-Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved. Acts xvi. 30, 31.

1. Estimate the value of that which he gains.2. Estimate the value of that which he loses.3. Compare the estimates, and answer the question. The human soul! What wealth shall dare

With its most priceless worth to vie?
Suns, systems, worlds, how mean they are,
Compared with souls, that cannot die!

24. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Ps. ii. 8.

1. The greatness of the proffered donation.2. The simplicity of the prescribed condition.3. Have we any reason to suppose either that Christ will fail to ask, or that the Father will fail to give?

1. The Saviour was the subject of immense sufferings.-2. A benevolent regard to the results of his mission enabled him patiently to endure the whole.

That when the Saviour knew
The price of pardon was his blood,
His pity ne'er withdrew.
