"WHOSO OFFERETH PRAISE, GLORIFIETH ME."

PRAISE or thanksgiving is indispensable to prayer. "In every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." Prayer has lost its right hand if not accompanied with praise. The same God to whom we resort in trouble and need has bestowed on us and is bestowing innumerable favours. Our life is one deep stream of mercies, deep, unfathomed, inexhaustible, unceasing, and all undeserved. Should this be for a moment forgotten when we come before God? Should all his favours day by day, and year by year pass, and we be ungrateful and silent? Will this open the ear of infinite goodness to what we have further to ask for? Though all praise is far unequal to the demand, and all man's praise is stained with sin, yet the grace of gratitude in the soul is God's own work, and He will give increase abundantly on the fruit, ful soil. "He that offereth praise, glorifieth me." "With thanksgiving make your requests known unto God," and the peace of God which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. How often are we reminded of this great duty when the subject of prayer is introduced! "Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving." thing give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ
