Committee Substitute for Senate Bill No. 53 was read and adopted.

There being no objection, the rules were suspended, on motion of Mr. Case, and the following Senate Bills, Nos. 2, 28, 18, 44, 34, and Committee Substitute for Senate Bill No. 53,

Were read for the first time by their titles and ordered to have a second reading.

Senate Bill No. 2, entitled "An act concerning the payment of bonus to school teachers, policemen, firemen, and employees of boards of education and municipal employees,"

Senate Bill No. 28, entitled "An act to amend an act entitled 'An act concerning municipalities,' approved March twentyseventh, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen,"

Senate Bill No. 18, entitled "An act to amend an act entitled 'An act creating the department of public reports,' approved April thirteenth, one thousand nine hundred and eight,"

Senate Bill No. 44, entitled "Supplement to an act entitled 'An act for the construction, maintenance and operation of waterworks for the purpose of supplying cities, towns, townships, villages, boroughs and other municipalities in this State with water,'

The Senate Committee on Judiciary announced that there will be a public hearing on the Prohibition Amendment, in the Senate Chamber, on Monday, March 3d, next, at 2 o'clock.

There will be a hearing on Senate Bills Nos. 10 and 12, Monday afternoon, February 24th, at 3 P. M., in the Senate Chamber.

Was taken up and read a third time.

Upon the question, "Shall this Senate bill pass," it was decided as follows:

And the following amendments to Senate Bill No. 14 were read and adopted:

Strike out the word "deputy" in line (1) one and the words "keepers and guards" on line (2) two and insert the words "all persons" in lieu thereof.

There being no objection, the rules were suspended, on motion. of Mr. Hammond,

And the following amendment to the title to Senate Bill No. 14 was read and adopted:

Strike out the words "deputy, keeper and guards" and insert in lieu thereof the words "all persons".

Mr. Hammond moved that Senate Bill No. 14 be laid over.

Which was agreed to.

Senate Bill No. 15, entitled "A supplement to an act entitled 'An act for the punishment of crimes (Revision of 1898),' approved June fourteenth, one thousand eight hundred and ninetyeight,"

Was taken up and read a third time.

Upon the question, "Shall this Senate bill pass?" it was decided as follows:

In the affirmative were

'A supplement to an act entitled "An act concerning promissory notes, bills of exchange and notaries public" (Revision), approved March twenty-seventh, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four,' which said supplement was approved April fourth, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four,"
