PROCLAMATION BY THE GOVERNOR.

STATE OF NEW JERSEY.

Therefore, I, LEON ABBETT, governor of the state of New Jersey, do hereby designate Thursday, the twentyseventh day of November, instant, as a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, and recommend that the people of this state on that day abstain from all secular avocations, assemble in their usual places of worship and give thanks to God for his infinite goodness in the past, and invoke for the future bis blessings upon the nation, the state, and the homes of our people.

Given under my hand and privy seal, at the executive chamber, in the city of Trenton, on [L. S.] this eleventh day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety.

Attest:

LEON ABBETT, JR.,
Private Secretary.
