Joint Committee's Report.

[ocr errors][ocr errors]

STATE OF NEW JERSEY,

OFFICE OF THE STATE TREASURER,

TRENTON, December 6th, 1906.

To the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey: The Joint Committee of the Legislature on the Accounts of the State Treasurer respectfully report that they have, in the discharge of the duty imposed upon them by law, examined the various accounts of the State and the securities held by it, and have also verified the balances in the various banks of deposit, and that they find them correct in every particular.

It is no mere flattery to State Treasurer Briggs, but it is a deduction founded upon fact that he and his assistants have conducted the office of State Treasurer in a most admirable and business-like manner, and in such a way as to earn the approval of every citizen of the State, and we, representing the Legislature, take this opportunity to congratulate him, as well as the State, upon the excellent financial condition in which this State finds itself, and upon the thorough and business-like manner of conducting the office of the State Treasurer.
