These Cities are divided into 31 Wards viz: In New York 14; In Albany 5; In Hudson 2; In Schenectady 4; In Troy 6. A STATEMENT OF THE POPULATION OF NEW YORK AT DIFFERENT PERIODS. One hundred years ago, viz. in 1731, this great state contained but ten Counties and 50,291 Inhabitants. In 1771 there were but ten Counties. The number of Inhab itants was 162,638 making an increase during 40 years of 112,347; an average annual increase of 2,826 Souls.
