b Ver. 25. Roм. viii. 4, 12: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. See on Roм. xiii. 14.

ROM. vii. 23: I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. do. viii. 6, 7 : To be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

COL. iii. 12: Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering. JAMES, iii. 17: But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
