BE IT REMEMBERED, that on the 28th day of April, in the fortyfourth year of the Independence of the United States of America, A. D. 1820, S. Potte R, & Co., of the said district, have deposited in this office

the title of a book, the right whereof they claim as proprietors, in the words following, to wit:

“Memoirs of the Protestant Episcopal church in the United States of Arnerica. Containing, 1st. A Narrative of the Organization and of the early measures of the Church. 2dly. Additional statements and remarks. 3dly. An Appendix of Original Papers By Wm. White, D. D. Bishop of the Protestant church in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.”

In conformity to the Act of Congress of the United States, entitled, “An act for the encouragement of learning, by securing the copies of maps, charts, and books, to the authors and proprietors of such copies, during the times therein mentioned,” and also to the act entitled “An act supplementary to an act entitled, an act for the encouragement of learning, by securing the copies of maps, charts, and books, to the authors and proprietors of such copies, during the times therein mentioned,” and extending the benefits thereof to the arts of designing, engraving, and etching historical and other prints.
