JOHN MACDONALD 4 BATH STREET, THE Forty-seventh ANNUAL MEETING of the Union will be held in the CHRISTIAN INSTITUTE, 70 Bothwell Street, on Thursday, 17th April, 1884. The BUSINESS MEETING will be held at 2 p.m., when the Reports for the past year will be submitted, and Office-bearers elected for the ensuing year. The CONVERSAZIONE will be held from 6.45 till 7.45 p.m.; and the PUBLIC MEETING will take place in the LARGE HALL at 8 o'clock. Addresses on Sabbath School work will be given by Ministers and others. SIR WILLIAM COLLINS, President of the Union, will Preside at both Day and Evening Meetings. Full particulars will be given in next month's Magazine. TEACHERS' LOCAL EXAMINATIONS-MARCH, 1884. THE Examinations will take place in the High School, Elmbank Street, and will be held as follows: Branch A.-"Scripture History and Doctrine," On Friday, 7th March, at 8 p.m. Friday, 14th March, at 8 p.m. Friday, 21st March, at 8 p.m. Branch C.-"Principles and Art of Teaching," Teachers who may not yet have intimated their intention to come forward as Candidates will please do so immediately, and, at the same time, state the subject or subjects upon which Examination is desired. THE Fifth of a series of MONTHLY CONFERENCES will be held in No. 7 Room, CHRISTIAN INSTITUTE, on Thursday, 20th March, at 8 p.m. To suit the convenience of Teachers whose places of business are in the centre of the city, and who reside at a distance, Tea will be supplied in the adjoining Room, from 7 till 7.45 p.m., for those who intimate, the day previously, their desire to have it. The expenses to be met by a Collection. The Subject of Conference-viz., "On Reaching the Parents through the Children"will be introduced by MR. THOMAS H. WATSON. These Conferences are designed to afford opportunity for the free discussion of questions pertaining to Sabbath School work. After the topic is introduced, each speaker is allowed Five Minutes. A large attendance of Sabbath School Teachers (ladies and gentlemen) is earnestly requested. TRAINING CLASS FOR TEACHERS. THIS Class meets on Saturday Afternoons, in the LESSER HALL of the CHRISTIAN INSTITUTE, 70 Bothwell Street, from 5 till 6 o'clock. The Lessons of the Union's Scheme will be taken up as under : A TRAINING CLASS FOR INFANT CLASS TEACHERS, Conducted by MR. FRED. A. LAING, Principal of Albion Crescent School, is held in No. 7 Room, CHRISTIAN INSTITUTE, every Saturday Afternoon, from 4.15 till 5 o'clock. The Lessons given are from the Union's recently published Scheme of Scripture Lessons for Infant Classes. MUSICAL TRAINING CLASSES. SUMMER SESSION, (March, April, and May,) 1884. THE CLASSES will begin on Monday, 10th March, at Eight o'Clock, in the CHRISTIAN INSTITUTE, 70 Bothwell Street. Opening night Free. They are chiefly designed for assisting Leaders of Praise, Precentors, Sabbath School and Day School Teachers, and others, in the "Art of Teaching" Singing according to the Sol-fa method.
