&c. Mesopotamia, which in Hebrew is callid AramNabaraim, or Aram between the two Rivers, viz. of Eupbrates and Tigris. And in the Scripture the Word Aram is constantly render'd Syria. From his Son Uz, a Tract about Damascus, the Stony and Desert Arabia, &c. was calld the Land of Úz; and the rest of his Family planted all Armenia Major.

CUSH possess'd Arabia ; and his Sons Seba, Cush fettled is Havilah, &c. feated themselves in the feverai Arabia. Parts thereof; from whom we read of the Sabeans, the Land of Havilah, &c.
CANAAN settled in the Country lying on Canaan the the East and South-East of the Mediterranean Father of the
Canaanites. Sea, and from him call'd the Land of Canaan, which was very populous with his Posterity, the Zidonians, Jebusites, Emorites, Girgasites, &c. of which see Gen, x. 15---18. This was the Land afterwards promised to Abraham, which he and his Posterity accordingly enjoy'd, and was then the Land of Israel, and Judab.
PHUT is supposed to have taken up his Re- Phut, wbere fidence in the Western Part of Africa on the Me-Jettled : diterranean, in the Country of Mauritania, (now Morocco and Algiers) for there are the Footsteps In Barbary. of his Name in Putea a City, and Pbut a River; whence the Country was callid the Region of Pbut, in St. Jerome's Time.
These are the Plantations of the Families of Gen. x. 32. the Sons of Noab after their Generations in their Nations; and after this manner by these were the Nations divided in the Earth after the Flood.
But tho' the Scripture gives us an ample Ac- The Scripture count of the Original of the different Nations lays nothing of
America. and People of Europe, Asia, and Africa, yet it speaks not one Word of America, and the Origin of the Nations therein. And not only Mofes, but all other Hitorians are filent with regard to it; the Discovery thereof being never fufficiently made till these last Ages.
