By Fish and Game Committee: House bill No. 550 (substitute for House bill No. 280), An act concerning fish and game, amending sections 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 20, 39, 40 and 41 of chapter 198 of the Session Laws of 1911, repealing said original sections, and repealing section 3898 of the General Statutes of 1909 and all acts and parts of acts in conflict herewith.

authorizing cities of the second class to prevent or regulate the running at large of animals and fowls, and repealing section 1395 of the General Statutes of 1909.

By Mr. Atkinson: House bill No. 552, An act relating to district courts in districts consisting of one county having or hereafter acquiring 100,000 or more inhabitants, and amendatory of section 7 of chapter 112 of the Laws of 1909, and repealing said original section 7.

REPORT OF SPECIAL COMMITTEE.

MR. SPEAKER: We, your special committee, appointed by this body to investigate useless offices and the doing away with everything connected with the departments that are useless, have given the matter much time and attention and are unable at this time to make a complete report. We therefore ask an extension of time for our committee, until February 25, at which time we expect to be able to make a complete report which will cover all the departments and institutions of the state.

MR. SPEAKER: I am directed by the Senate to inform the House that the Senate has passed House bill No. 183, An act creating a department of labor and industry, defining its powers and the duties of the officers thereof, repealing sections 5033, 5034, 5035, 5036, 5037 and 5038, also sections 8015, 8016, 8023, 8024, General Statutes of 1909, and all laws and parts of laws in conflict with the provisions of this act, and the same is herewith transmitted.
