Chief, Child Development and Behavior Branch Current Duties: Management of a research branch compsoed of scientific programs in (1) normative cognitive, social, and affective development; (2) developmental psychobiology and cognitive neuroscience; (3) behavioral pediatrics and health promotion research; (4) development and disorders in language, reading, and attention; (5) child abuse and neglect and family violence; and (6) bilingual (Spanish/English) language and reading development. Supervises five (four Ph.D., one M.D.) program directors and three program assistants/secretaries. Directs 42-site NICHD Reading Research Network. Administers $30 million dollar annual budget.
