To sing from more than one Hymn book in public Worship, involves needless trouble and expense; and invariably leaves half the congregation, especially the poor, without any books at all. To have a voluminous book is equally superfluous, as a selection of one hundred and twenty in number only allows each hymn to be sung three times a year on the Sabbath. To include more, is to leave them unsung. Added to which, a large hymn book, at a low price, is necessarily too small a print for general use. To give every one who comes to |
