In London and Suburbs alone some sixty-five Libraries are using it. Some time back Mr. Passmore Edwards' architect sought information from the various Public Libraries as to the best system of issuing books. Nine-tenths of the replies were in favour of this system. Copies of these sent if required. The SIMPLEX CARD CHARGING INDICATOR. This recent invention is not equal to the Ledger Indicator for keeping a permanent record, but it is far superior to any other in working with a Card Charging System, as at the one operation a duplex record is obtained; in the indicator under the book number, and in the charging drawer, under the borrower's number or name. No entry whatever is required by the Staff. The indicator number on the public side is covered when the book corresponding is out. The SIMPLEX SHELF SUPPORT. The latest design, and already adopted by several Libraries, is the Simplest System of Adjustable Shelving that exists. The shelves can be raised or lowered without moving a single book, and in half the time required by any other system. No space is lost; no complicated mechanism to get out of order, or nip the fingers; no damage to books; no tilting of shelves; and is entirely out of sight when books are in position unless the shelves are unusually far apart. The AUTOMATIC and other BOOKCASE STEPS, Magazine Racks, Combined Book Cover and Book Mark, Newspaper Rods, Combined Book Support and Label Holder, etc., are used at numerous Libraries and other Institutions with great advantage. The CONTENTS SUBJECT INDEX TO GENERAL AND PERIODICAL LITERATURE (Price 7/6 to Subscribers before publication) now in course of compilation, and of which upwards of 700 copies have already been subscribed for, has been most favourably reviewed and commended by many of the leading litterateurs and literary reviews of the day.
