LUKE iii.

As it-is-written in the-book ofthe-words of-Esaias the prophet, saying, The-voice of-one-crying in the wilderness, Prepare-ye the way of-the-Lord, make his paths straight. Every valley shall-befilled, and every mountain and hill shall-bebrought-low; (TATTEIVWSnoera) and the crooked shall-be made (εoraι Euç Evolaç) straight, and the rough ways shall be made-smooth;

And all flesh shall-see the salvation (σωτηριον) of-God.

4 And the same John had his raiment

of camel's hair, and a-leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.

was clothedwith camel's hair, &with a-girdle of-a-skin about his loins; and he-did-eat locusts and wild honey. (for i, 7, see § IV.)

Now when all the 21 people were-baptized,it

came-to-pass, that Jesus also being-baptized

and praying, the heaven wasopened, (ανεώχθηναι)

and the Holy Ghost 22 descended in-a-bodily shape (σωματικω ειδεί) like a-dove upon him, and a-voice came from heaven, which-said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I-amwell-pleased.
