And he looked on the Kenite, and took up his parable, and

said,

Strong is thy dwelling-place.
And thy nest is set in the rock.

Nevertheless Kain shall be wasted,

Until Asshur shall carry thee away captive.

And he took up his parable, and said,

Alas, who shall live when God doeth this?

But ships shall come from the coast of Kittim,
And they shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber;
And he also shall come to destruction."

And Balaam rose up, and went and returned to his place; and Balak also went his way.

And Israel abode in Shittim; and the people began to play the harlot with the daughters of Moab: for they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods; and the people did eat and bowed down to their gods. And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeors: And the anger of Yahweh was kindled against Israel. And Yahweh said unto Moses, "Take all the chiefs of the people, and hang them up unto Yahweh before the sun, that the fierce anger of Yahweh may turn away from Israel." And Moses said unto the judges of Israel, "Slay ye every one his men that have joined themselves unto Baal-peor."

Moses said, "And there shalt thou build an altar unto Yahweh thy God, an altar of stones: thou shalt lift up no iron tool upon them. Thou shalt build the altar of Yahweh thy God of unhewn stones: and thou shalt offer burnt offerings thereon unto Yahweh thy God: and thou shalt sacrifice peace offerings."

And Yahweh said unto Moses, "Behold, thy days approach that thou must die: call Joshua, and present yourselves in the tent of meeting, that I may give him a charge." And Moses and Joshua went, and presented themselves in the tent of meeting. And Yahweh appeared in the Tent in a pillar of cloud: and the pillar of cloud stood over the door of the Tent.

And Yahweh shewed him all the land of Gilead, unto Dan; and all Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah, unto the hinder sea; and the South, and the Plain of the valley of Jericho the city of palm trees, unto Zoar. And Yahweh said unto him, "This is the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, I will give it unto thy seed: I have caused thee to see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither." So Moses the servant of Yahweh died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of Yahweh. And he buried him in the valley in the land of Moab over against Beth-peor: but no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day.
