CHAPTER 16.

OF PUBLIC REVENUE.

AN ACT to provide for the payment of certain expenses incurred in the burial of certain indigent soldiers, sailors or marines.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Delaware in General Assembly met (threefourths of all the members elected to each House concurring therein:)

Section I. That there is hereby appropriated out of any burial of indi- moneys in the General Fund, not otherwise appropriated, the sum of Six Hundred and Twenty-five dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, to the Department Commander of the Delaware Grand Army of the Republic, for the purpose of paying the funeral expenses of twenty-five indigent soldiers sailors and marines. The annual State appropriation therefore having been exhausted.

AN ACT providing for an appropriation of Five Hundred Dollars to erect a Monument to Commemorate the First Settlement in Delaware, at Lewes, Sussex County.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Delaware in General Assembly met:

transfer certain is hereby authorized and directed to transfer the sum of State Treasurer Twenty-two Thousand and Thirty-five dollars, now standing to the credit of the School Fund to the State Treasurer who shall deposit the same to the credit of the State and take the receipt of the State Treasurer therefor, the sum to be applied to the purchase of outstanding bonds of the State as is now State Treasurer or may be provided by law. And the State Treasurer is on said bonds. hereby authorized and directed to pay to the Trustee of the School Fund, interest on the above stated sum at the rate of six per centum per annum, from the first day of January A. D. 1906, to the first day of July A. D. 1906.

Form of Bond.

Section 2. That a single bond of this State shall be issued for the sum of One Hundred and Seventy-eight Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty-five dollars ($178,785.) being made up of the aforesaid sum of One Hundred and Fifty-six Thousand and Seven Hundred and Fifty dollars ($156,750), and the further sum of Twenty-two Thousand and Thirtyfive dollars ($22,035.), proceeds of the liquidation of the Farmers' Bank at New Castle and paid into the State Treasury, but also belonging to the School Fund. The said bond shall be in the following form,viz:

These presents certify and make known that the State of Delaware acknowledges itself to owe unto "The School Fund of the State of Delaware" the sum of One Hundred and Seventy-eight Thousand and Seven Hundred and Eightyfive dollars ($178,785.) which it promises and obliges itself to pay unto the trustee of the School Fund, on the first day of July A. D. one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one (1931) together with interest on the same at the rate of six per centum per annum to be computed from and after the first day of July A. D. 1906, and to be paid in manner following: The sum of Ten Thousand Seven Hundred and Twenty-seven dollars and ten cents as and for interest on the first day of July A. D. 1907, and the like sum of Ten Thousand Sevent Hundred and Twenty-seven dollars and ten cents as and for interest on the first day of July in each and every year there-after while the principal debt remains unpaid..

The said bond shall be signed by the Governor, Secretary Bond, by whom of State and State Treasurer; shall have the Great Seal affixed signed and to thereto, and shall be dated on the day of its execution; when delivered. duly executed it shall be delivered to the trustee of the School Fund who shall file his receipt therefor with the Secretary of State, and that officer shall cause such receipt to be duly recorded in the official register of his office.

Section 3. That the faith of the State be and it is hereby Public faith expressly pledged for the full payment of the moneys repre- pledged. sented by said bond, principal and interest; and the said bond and the moneys thereby secured are hereby expressly property of declared to be the property of the said School Fund.

CHAPTER 20.

OF PUBLIC REVENUE.

AN ACT appropriating One Hundred and Fourteen Thousand Dollars to "The State Board of Trustees of the Delaware State Hospital at Farnhurst".

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Delaware in General Assembly met:

Section I. That the sum of Fifty-seven Thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated and authorized to be paid out of the Treasury of this State, to "The State Board of Trustees of the Delaware State Hospital at Farnhurst," for the use and support of "The Delaware State Hospital at Farnhurst," during the fiscal year ending on Monday next immediately preceding the second Tuesday of January in the year A. D. 1906.

Section 2. That the further and additional sum of Fiftyseven Thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is hereby appropriated and authorized to be paid out of the Treasury of this State, to "The State Board of Trustees of the Delaware State Hospital at Farnhurst," for the use and support of "The Delaware State Hospital at Farnhurst" during the fiscal year ending on Monday next immediately preceding the second Tuesday of January in the year, A. D. 1907.
