SOUTHERN AND WESTERN THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY.

This Institution is established at Maryville, Tenn., and commenced its operations in 1821.

The number of persons who have been educated at this Semirary is 22.

ROCK SPRING THEOLOGICAL SCHOOL.

This Seminary was established in 1827, at Rock Spring, Ill. It is of the Baptist denomination.

The Synod of South Carolina and Georgia have recently established a Theological Seminary at Columbia, S. C., and the Rev. Drs. Waddell and Goulding have already been apponted Professors.

There are, in the United States, eighteen Theological Seminaries, established in the following states :

These eighteen Seminaries belong to the following religious

The whole number of persons who have been educated at these Seminaries (the number educated at one being unknown)

is 1529.

The number of students who graduated in 1828, was 103. The number now pursuing their studies, in connexion with these Seminaries, is 599, of whom 201 are aided either by the Seminaries themselves, or by Education Societies.

The whole number of Professors is 46.

The aggregate number of volumes in the libraries of these Seminaries is 35,960.

AMERICAN BIBLE SOCIETY.

This great National Society was organized in May, 1816. Its object is to disseminate the Scriptures without note or comment. It is established in the CITY OF NEW-YORK. Annual meeting second Thursday in May.
