STATE OF NEW JERSEY,
HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY,

Trenton, Jan. 13th, 1885.
At 3 o'clock P. M, the House met.

This being the day designated by the constitution for the assembling of the One Hundred and Ninth Legislature of the State of New Jersey, and 3 o'clock P. M. being the hour appointed for the organization of the House of Assembly, the House was called to order by Henry D. Winton, Clerk of the last House.

Prayer was offered by the Rev. Mr. Maddock.

Upon calling of the roll, the following gentlemen appeared and answered to their names :

Mr. Dickinson offered the following resolution which was read and adopted :

Resolved, That the Hon. John C. Besson, of Hudson cotinty, administer the oath of office to the Hon. Benjamin F. Chambers, of Mercer, by whom the members-elect shall be sworn.

Whereupon Mr. Chambers presented his certificate of election duly authenticated, and took and subscribed to the oath of office.

Mr. Dickinson offered the following resolution which was reail and adopted :
