The Emden has sunk or taken 21 British vessels, 7 in one week. It is pleasing to hear from one shipping authority, however, that her "work of destruction was accompanied with strict consideration for the rights of innocent parties," and that "when liners carrying women and children have fallen in with German cruisers, the liners have been allowed to proceed unmolested after dismantling their wireless."
