To the Legislature: STATE OF NEW YORK: COMPTROLLER'S OFFICE, In the performance of a duty imposed by law, the Comptroller respectfully presents the following report of the financial operations of the State for the fiscal year ending September 30th, 1867, with such suggestions as have occurred to him for the management and improvement of the public revenues. Adopting the arrangement of the previous year as the most simple and intelligible, the several subjects to be considered, will be embraced under the general heads of debt, revenues, receipts and expenditures, and the condition of the funds held in trust by the State. DEBT. On the 30th of September, 1866, the total funded debt of the State, was $51,753,082.22, classified as follows: On the 30th of September, 1867, the total funded debt was $48,367,682.22, classified as follows: |
