HYMN LXIV.

"The Catholic faith is this: that we worship one God in Trinity, and Trinity in Unity."-ATH. Creed.

O Thou who dwellest bright on high,
Thou ever blessed Trinity!

Thee we confess-in Thee believe,
To Thee, with love adoring, cleave.

The Father, by the saints adored,
The Son of God! our blessed Lord,
The Holy Spirit, Who doth join
Father and Son with love divine.

We see the Father in the Son;
With God the Father, Christ is One!
The Holy Ghost, the Paraclete,
In both resides, in both complete.

And God the Father, God the Son,
And God the Holy Ghost are One;
All Three one blessed truth approve-
All Three compose One Holy Love!

To God the Father, God the Son,
And Holy Ghost be glory done;
One God Almighty we adore,
With heart and voice for evermore.

HYMN LXV.

"In the unity of this Godhead there be Three Persons of one substance, majesty, and glory, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost."-ARTICLES OF RELIGION.

Father of all! to Thee we raise
The tribute of our grateful praise;
Who for our double life hast giv'n

Bread from the earth, and bread from heaven.

Thou too, O Jesu, be ador'd,

The only Son, the Almighty Lord;
Who, our salvation to become,
Didst not abhor the Virgin's womb.

Who on the Cross, a victim made,
The ransom of the world hast paid;
Through Whom alone, on guilty men,
The hope of life has dawned again.

And Thou, by Whose Almighty aid,
The ever blessed mother maid
Brought forth Incarnate Deity-
Eternal Spirit! praise to Thee.

To God the Father, God the Son,
And Holy Spirit, Three in One,
Laud, honour, glory, majesty,
Now and thenceforth for ever be!

HYMN LXVI.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for-the evidence of things not seen."-HEBREWS XI. 1.

We saw Thee not when Thou did'st tread,
O Saviour, this our simple earth,
Nor heard Thy voice restore the dead,
And wake them to a second birth;
But we believe that Thou did'st come
And quit for us Thy glorious home.

We were not with the faithful few
Who stood thy bitter Cross around,
Nor heard the prayer of those who slew,
Nor felt that earthquake rock the ground;
We saw no spear-wound pierce Thy side,
But we believe that Thou hast died.

No angel's message met our ear

On that first glorious Easter Day,
"The Lord is risen; He is not here;
Come see the place where Jesus lay!"
But we believe that thou did'st quell
The banded powers of death and hell.

We saw Thee not return on high,
And now, our longing sight to bless,
No ray of glory from the sky

Shines down upon our wilderness;
Yet we believe that Thou art there,
And seek Thee, Lord, in praise and prayer.

HYMN LXVII.

"Our Father which art in Heaven."

Holy, holy, holy Lord,

In the highest heavens adored;
Author of all nature's frame,
Father! hallowed be Thy name.

Thou, our Heavenly Father art,
Draw to Thee each wandering heart;
From Thy hand our spirits came,
Father! hallowed be Thy name.

Nor by nature's tie alone,

Thou art as our Father known;
Dearer still in Christ our claim,
Father! hallowed be Thy name.

Father! grant us from above
Faith, and hope, and filial love;
Cleanse from guilt, preserve from shame,
Father! hallowed be Thy name.

Whether, then, in want or wealth,
Joy or sorrow, pain or health;
Still our prayer shall be the same,
Father! hallowed be Thy name.

HYMN LXVIII.

"Thy will be done."

My God! my Father! while I stray
Far from my home on life's rough way,
Oh! teach me from my heart to say-
66 Thy will be done."

Though dark my path, and sad my lot,
Let me be still and murmur not;
But breathe the prayer divinely taught-
"Thy will be done."

Controul my will from day to day;
Form it to Thine, and take away
All that now makes it hard to say—
Thy will be done."

66

If Thou should'st call me to resign What most I prize-it ne'er was mine— I only yield Thee what was Thine— Thy will be done."

66

And when at length I breathe no more
The prayer oft mixed with tears before,
I'll sing upon a happier shore-
"Thy will be done.
