SIR AS required by resolution of the House of Representatives of December 19, 1873, I have the honor to transmit herewith a statement showing the number of persons employed in the office of the Commissioner of Internal Revenue December 1, 1866, and the compensation paid them; the number of persons employed in said office on the 1st of December, 1873, and the compensation paid them.
