Inmates of Lunatic Asylums, or of Workhouses, when described as Insane and as having formerly followed some Occupation, have been classed as "Retired," irrespective of age; also other formerly occupied Inmates of Workhouses if aged 60 years or upwards. Patients in Hospitals and Prisoners of all ages, on the assumption that their ordinary work has been relinquished for a time only, have not been dealt with as "Retired."
